The number one ranking in the DXO Mark rankings for the best camera phone is currently held by the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. Many of you might be surprised but its a fact and believe me it is one of the best flagship devices around. It is now available in India, price starting from ₹69999.
The recently launched Xiaomi Mi11X is an excellent choice in the midrange segment and now the Mi 11 Ultra is set to rock the flagship zone.Well you don’t buy a phone only for the cameras and trust me the Mi 11 Ultra ticks all the right boxes. Let’s have a look at the specifications.
|Size and Weight||8.4mm,234g|

The 6.81″ Amoled display is one of the best out there.It supports HDR10+ and a resolution of 1440×3200.The advertised peak brightness is 1700nits and quite obviously the refresh rate is 120Hz.
The display is curved and colour reproduction is awesome.
Talking of displays there’s another small 2.79cm one on the back alongside the rear cameras in the same module. It gives you a peek at battery level or time even when phone is laying on the back.There are certain customisations you can make on this display. It also serves for another purpose which is to take selfies with the back cameras as you can have a preview on the small display.
The USP of Mi 11 Ultra are the cameras.They have practically surpassed the SamsungGalaxyS21Ultra at least in the DXOMARK tests.The rear houses a triple camera module with a primary 50MP f/1.95 sensor. This lens is the GNM2 one made by Samsung and is touted to be the largest camera sensor in a mobile phone. As you know large sensors allow more light and hence photos are bright and crisp full of details. It automatically enhances night or low light photography as well.
The second camera is a 48MP Sony IMX586 periscope telephoto lens which can zoom upto 5X optically and digitally a whopping 120X.Both this and the primary camera have OIS and PDAF. It is followed by the same 48MP lens which acts as the ultrawide sensor and again it breaks the record with a 128°field of view.
8K videos can be shot on all the three lenses which again is a first.
The front houses a 20MP selfie shooter but as I mentioned earlier you don’t always need the front camera in the Mi 11 Ultra. The small display on the back allows a preview of the image and hence you can shoot selfies with the far well advanced rear cameras. The 128°ultrawide lens will automatically enhance the groupfies.
The Mi 11 Ultra boasts of dual stereo speakers with audio tuned by Harman Kardon.
The battery is big as is needed for a phone of such proportions. It is 5000mAH and comes with fast charging prowess of 67W.Even the wireless charging speed is the same.The company claims the Mi 11 Ultra can charge from 0 to 100% in 36mins only.
Ip68 certified water and dust resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, a big bright and colourful Amoled display, the best phone cameras in the world, the best processor in the Android world at this moment, a huge battery, super fast charging speed..what else can you imagine to get from a smartphone?Yes the Mi 11 Ultra is a superphone but yes I found two minute glitches. One is the weight of the phone. Its quite heavy largely because of the cameras and the big camera module. The second is the MIUI software skin which has improved largely but still remains to reach the level of Samsung OneUI or the Oxygen OS of OnePlus phones.
The Ceramic Black and Ceramic White colours are beautiful. The price is quite a lot but the same specifications fetch far more in a Samsung device. So if you are ready to pay the price I definitely recommend the Mi 11 Ultra. Let me know your thoughts in comments.
