Vivo V20 Pro , the upcoming Vivo phone,is the company’s answer to the OnePlus Nord. The Nord has set the market on fire solely due to its pricing. It is the cheapest 5G phone till date. The Vivo V20 Pro,whose pre-booking has started and the phone is set to release in India on 2nd December,2020.It has the same processor as that of the Nord but the obvious query would be is it better. If so in what aspects.
All that would come down to the last and the main question – the price.Well it is rumoured to be available for 29,999 INR.So it is almost at par with the Nord price. Now let’s have a look at what the Vivo V20 Pro has to offer before comparing it with the OnePlus Nord.
DESIGN AND DISPLAY
The first impression on unboxing the Vivo V20 Pro is wow.The colour on the back with antigloss technology and a matte finish looks awesome. The camera module itself looks wonderful and takes the aesthetics of the phone to a completely new level.
The phone is just 7.4mm thick and weighs 170g.Thus holding the phone for long will be of no worries. The display is 6.44″ Super Amoled with 2400×1080 resolution. It is HDR 10 supported. The aspect ratio is 20:9 and has~409ppi.
As mentioned before the Vivo V20 Pro is 5G supported and features a dual nano SIM tray.As per the information there is no space for expandable storage.

PERFORMANCE
Talking of performance the Vivo V20 Pro boasts of the time tested Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset which as you already know has that integrated 5G modem. The 765G is the first and was the only choice for cheaper 5G phones.I say was because the Dimensity 1000+ and Snapdragon 690,750 have arrived at the market which also supports 5G.The Oneplus Nord also features the 765G.
8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is the only variant available for the phone.
The phone is set to come with Android 11 out of the box wit Vivo’s own Funtouch 11 software skin on top.
CAMERAS
The cameras have always been an attraction in any Vivo phone and the Vivo V20 Pro is no exception. You can rely on the camera quality and image processing eyes closed. The rear has a triple camera set-up with a primary 64MP f/1.89 wide sensor from Samsung,a 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide sensor with 120° field of view and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. The 8MP ultrawide sensor also has macro feature which is far better than a 2MP lens.
4K [email protected] 30fps and 1080p @30/60 fps can be captured.Gyro EIS is featured.
For all the selfie lovers the front of the Vivo V20 Pro houses a dual camera notch with a 44MP f/2.0 wide lens and a 7MPf/2.3 ultrawide sensor. The 44MP lens features eye autofocus which ensures lovely portrait selfies. The ultrawide sensor also enables your group selfies or as they say now groupfies. The front camera can also shoot 4K [email protected] alongside [email protected] fps.
Biometrics
Besides the common fingerprint and pattern unlock the V20 Pro sports an underdisplay optical fingerprint sensor.Face unlock is also available.
BATTERY AND COLOURS
The Vivo V20 Pro houses a 4000mAH battery with 33W fast charging prowess.
The available colours are Sunset Melody, Midnight Jazz and Moonlight Sonata.

COMPARISON WITH THE ONEPLUS NORD
The already famous Oneplus Nord has one thing better than most other phones and that is the Oxygen OS.It is no doubt better than Funtouch OS of Vivo. But besides that the Vivo V20 Pro,in my opinion scores over the Nord.
Both have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC.The display size is similar but the Vivo phone has the better looks and feel. Also the back is glass. The main difference is the camera. The 64MP primary lens of the V20 Pro is better than the 48MP sensor of the Nord.Though the Nord has a quad camera set-up while the V20 Pro has a triple camera module the latter is better since it has a 8MP sensor which acts both as an ultrawide and macro lens. The Nord has a 2MP macro lens.
Both the phones have a dual front camera module. The Nord has it in punch hole style wot primary 32MP wide sensor and a 8MP ultrawide sensor. The Vivo V20 Pro has a notch with primary 44MP and 8MP sensors. As you can see the camera is better in megapixel count and it even has eye autofocus which is absent in the Nord.
The Nord has a slightly bigger 4115mAH battery with 30W fast charging while the V20 Pro has a 4000mAH battery with 33W fast charging prowess.
If the Vivo V20 Pro costs 29999INR then it will be at par with the 12GB variant of the Nord. But the cameras of the Vivo phone justifies the slightly bigger price.
CONCLUSION
Overall I feel that the Vivo V20 Pro is a very recommendable phone.Of late all the Vivo phones usually focussed on good cameras and provided not so good (in terms of price) processors. This phone has ticked all the boxes it seems. Before finishing I should remind you that Vivo V20 is also available at 21999 INR which is not 5G supported.Except for the Snapdragon 720 processor rest features are alike.
