Samsung always releases so many phones that it is really difficult to keep count.This year also they have launched 3 variants of their premium flagship device:the Samsung Galaxy S20,S20+and the S20 Ultra.
You can read about the S20 Ultra in my previous post.Still you just cannot ignore an elephant,a beast and the S20 Ultra is literally a beast and its reference will come however one tries not to.
This post will be about the S20 and S20+.Why together? The answer is they are similar devices.In fact one can say the Samsung Galaxy S20+ is a larger version of the Samsung Galaxy S20.Without much adieu lets dive into the details.
DESIGN AND BODY
Both the S20 and S20+ are rectangular shaped with slightly curved edges and a punch hole camera in the front.They have a glass front and back the glass being Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and an aluminium frame.Both are IP68 rated water and dust resistant.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 is lighter and smaller than the S20+.Being lighter is certainly an advantage but being larger nowadays is not considered a disadvantage by all.Larger phones inevitably means larger display size a feature which many users like.
I personally am a fan of such phones which I can easily control with one hand and so I prefer the S20 to the S20+.
|PROTECTION||CORNING GORILLA GLASS 6||SAME|
|WATER AND DUST RESISTANCE||IP68||SAME|
The Samsung Galaxy S20 series all have the same Dynamic Amoled capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours.The colours,brightness,contrast and fluidity of the touch screen is awesome.
Display of these phones are also enhanced by the 120Hz maximum screen refresh rate.I say maximum because you do not get 120Hz refresh rate for the FHD(1080p) resolution and for the QHD(1440) you get the standard 60Hz rate.
There is an option where you can switch to the 120Hz refresh rate.Your swiping,scrolling and gaming experience a new height but you will have to sacrifice a little more battery life.
The Galaxy S20+ has a considerably large display of 6.7″ compared to that of the Galaxy S20 with 6.2″ display.Both support the same resolution with slight difference in ppi.
I should mention that 6.7″ display makes S20+ a large phone but even then it is dwarfed by the S20 Ultra with a 6.9″ display.

|SCREEN TO BODY RATIO||89.5%||90.7%|
PROCESSOR,OS AND STORAGE
The Samsung Galaxy S20 and the S20+ both are 5G phones, have the same processors and run on the Samsung One UI 2 based on Android 10.Their RAM and storage variants are also identical.

|RAM/INTERNAL STORAGE||8/128 UFS 3.0||SAME|
|EXTERNAL STORAGE||UPTO 1TB(OPTIONAL)||SAME|
The S20+ features a quad camera module while the S20 has a triple camera setup.There is an extra TOF sensor in the S20+.
The main sensor of 64MP supports 3X hybrid optical zoom and 30X space zoom.
They have the same Super Steady video features and both possess the same punch hole in display front camera.

When you compare the 64MP main camera and 30X space zoom of the S20 &S20+ to that of 108MP with 100X space zoom of the S20 Ultra it seems of much lower standard.In real life the times when you will feel that 108MP and 100X zoom is necessary will be very far fetched in between.
The 64 MP camera with all the features of both the S20 and the S20+ produce very high quality detailed photos and is more than good enough for your daily life.
Both the devices have an under display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.They also support the Samsung,s own Bixby natural language commands and dictation and the Samsung DeX(desktop experience support).There is no 3.5mm jack and they support USB 3.2,Type C 1.0 reversible connector and USB On-The-Go.
The S20+ has a larger battery but both the devices support 25W fast charging and 9W wireless charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 is available in Cosmic Grey,Cloud Blue,Cloud White,Cloud Pink and Aura Red colour variants.

When you look into the S20 series you will find the S20 Ultra stands out as if it is a completely different device and has a pricetag 50%more than that of the S20.
Now if you focus on the S20 and S20+ you will notice that the latter differs only in display and battery size.It is almost compulsory to have a bigger battery for a larger display.The extra TOF sensor on the S20+ does not make a considerable difference.
The S20 being lighter and smaller is perfect for one handed use and it does not lack any high end specs.
So only if you have a personal liking for a larger display smartphone you can go for the S20+.Otherwise at 200$ lesser price buying the S20 is a better deal in my opinion.
