Realme 7Pro was launched alongside the Realme 7 and will be on sale from the 14th of September 2020. The name suggests that it is the Pro version of the Realme 7 but the obvious question is why? What does the Realme 7 Pro have that makes it better than the normal version? Hopefully I will be able to answer that in this post.

First of all the highlight of the Realme 7 Pro is the 65W fast charging prowess which makes it India’s fastest charging phone as of now.Well it is a great feature no doubt but only that doesn’t make a phone Pro.So what more does it have.

Before answering the question I should remind you that Realme off late has been making some wonderful phones in the mid-range segment.By mid-range I mean below 20000 INR.Now the base variant of the Pro costs 20000INR while the top variant is 2000INR more.Is this price worthy of the phone.Let’s have a look.

Though the colour variants of the Realme 7 Pro are called Mirror but actually they are similar to the Realme 7 in having a matte finish with a rectangular patch coming down from the camera module on the back. The back has a shiny finish which may validate the naming.Edges are rounded and bezels are minimum except for the chin.

The 3.5mm jack retains its place and the phone features dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, which is significantly missing in the Realme 7.The dimensions of the Realme 7 Pro are 168.9mm×74.3mm×8.7mm.It weighs 182g.The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.The phone claims to be water repellent meaning it can withstand the sudden splashes but don’t think of taking it with you into the pool.

A 6.4″ Super Amoled display is featured with 1080×2400 resolution. The screen to body ratio according to the company is 90.8% and the aspect ratio is 20:9.It also has~411ppi.The difference with the Realme 7 is that it had an IPS LCD display.Hence the display of the Realme 7 Pro is better though it lacks the 90Hz refresh rate of the former.

The fingerprint sensor is in display optical one and is quite fast.Amoled display automatically ensures a better viewing experience. For those who doubt the gaming experience owing to the lack of a faster refresh rate should know that the Realme 7 Pro comes with the feature of Hyper Boost in the Gaming Mode. This not only boosts up the frame rate to the maximum but also enhances the touch response rate. Thus gaming is also a very immersive experience.

Realme 7 Pro runs on Realme UI slapped over Android 10.As you very well know that this software skin is relatively new and has a lot of similarities to the Color OS of Oppo.

Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC which runs on 8nm technology and has an octacore processor that clocks 2.3GHz maximum (2×2.3GHz,6×1.8GHz). The chipset is also a pretty big upgrade than that of the Realme 7 which runs Mediatek Helio G95 and has a maximum clock speed of 2.05GHz.The GPU is Adreno 618.

6GB and 8GB are the RAM variants with internal storage of 128GB.The phone has a dedicated micro SD card slot along with dual nano 4G SIM slots and can expand storage upto 256GB.The base variant is priced at 19999 INR while the top variant will cost 21999INR.

Rear cameras on the Realme 7 Pro is identical to that of the Realme 7.The quad camera module has a primary 64MP f/1.8 Sony IMX 682 sensor,a 8MP f/2.3 ultra wide sensor with 119° field of view,a 2MP f/2.4 macro and a 2MP f/2.4 B/W depth sensor.Super Nightscape,Pro Nightscape, Portrait mode,Starry Night Mode are all available.Night mode also comes with 3 special filters namely Flamingo, Modern Gold and Cyberpunk.

4K [email protected] along with 1080p [email protected]/60/120 fps can be captured.

The selfie shooter on the Realme 7 Pro is a 32MP punch hole one with f/2.5. This also is an upgrade from the 16MP selfie snapper on the Realme 7.AI Portraits,AI Beauty and Super Nightscape modes are also supported for the front camera.

The battery is 4500mAH which is smaller than the Realme 7’s 5000mAH battery. But the whopping 65W fast charging prowess makes the Realme 7 Pro the fastest charging phone of India at this moment. The phone can be charged from 0 to 100% in just 34minutes.50% charge is possible in about 12minutes!!!

Two colour variants are available – the Mirror Blue and Mirror Silver.

Realme 7 Pro is costlier than it’s namesake the Realme 7.But the increased price also brings in quite more specs. The premium looking under display optical fingerprint sensor is better sounding compared to the side mounted fingerprint sensor of the Realme 7.I have already mentioned the other differences before like the processor and display type.Only the rear cameras are identical.

I should mention that the Realme 7 with its 90Hz refresh rate display at its mid-range price is a damn good phone. But the display is LCD whereas the Realme 7 Pro doesn’t boast of a faster refresh rate display but features Amoled display which is always better. Then the 65W charging capacity is a game changer. All this makes the Realme 7 Pro a recommendable phone but are you willing to buy it? Please let me know in comments.
