Realme 7 is the refreshed version of Realme 6.I could not think of a more apt statement than this.It will be available for sales from the 10th of September,2020.For a reminder the Realme 6 was launched just 6 months ago.
However in between phones like Realme C12 and C15 were launched by Realme. The Realme 7 is also a mid ranger but costs more than the aforesaid phones. There are two storage variants priced at Rs.14999 for the lower one and Rs.16999 for the top variant.
Realme 7 is the world’s first in two aspects. It is the first phone with TUV Rheinland Reliability Verification. To be honest I don’t know what it actually means but it implies that the phone has gone through certain tests to make it more reliable. The Mediatek Helio G95 chipset is also used for the first time in a phone.
Without wasting any more time let’s take a look at the details.
DESIGN AND DISPLAY
Remember the Realme 6.It had shiny finish on the back and a streak of dual colour tone looking like a comet. After reflection of light that looked beautiful. The Realme 7 doesn’t boast of such looks.Infact it has a matte finish on the back which is shiny I must admit. There is a dual tone in the form of a rectangular patch starting from the camera module. This portion is shinier and justifies the mirror back which the company claims.
Another difference with the 6 are the rounded edges. The fingerprint sensor remains on the power button and is extremely fast.On the front is a punch hole selfie shooter and the back houses a rectangular quad camera module. The SIM tray has a triple slot for dual nano 4G sims and a micro SD card. The 3.5 mm jack retains its place and there is a single bottom firing speaker beside the USB port.

The dimensions of the phone are 162.3mm×75.4mm×9.4mm.It weighs 196.5g.The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and the frame is plastic. The chin has a comparatively bigger bezel but you have to compromise something for the price I suppose.
Realme 7 features a 6.5″IPS LCD display with 2400×1080 FHD+ resolution. The screen to body ratio is 90.5% and the display boasts of~405ppi.The main highlight though is the 90Hz refresh rate,an excellent feature to have in a phone of this price range.
OS, PROCESSOR AND STORAGE
Realme UI based on Android 10 is the operating system. The UI is relatively new and has a lot of similarities to the ColorOS.Some bloatware have been removed and the phone comes with some pre installed Google apps.
For the first time in the world the new Mediatek Helio G95 chipset is housed in the Realme 7. The maximum clock speed of this octa core processor is 2.05GHz and the GPU is ARM Mali G76 MC4.Yes it is similar to the Helio G90T of Realme 6 but benchmark scores show there is a upgrade in GPU.In fact the GPU speed is 900MHz.
This SoC is gaming centric and it even has a carbon fibre cooling system to keep your phone cool during long gaming sessions. All this along with the 90Hz refresh rate ensures immersive gaming experience.
The base model has 6GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage and is priced at Rs 14999 while the top model has 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage costing Rs.16999. As I mentioned earlier there is also a dedicated micro SD card slot for expandable storage.
CAMERAS
A quad camera set-up is present on the rear with a primary 64MP f/1.8 sensor,a 8MP f/2.3 ultra wide sensor with 119° field of view,a 2MP f2.4 macro lens and a 2MP f/2.4 B/W depth sensor. The camera specs are similar to the Realme 6 but the primary camera of 64MP of the Realme 7 is a Sony IMX 682 sensor compared to the Samsung Isocell sensor of the 6.
According to the company this Sony sensor allows a full 64MP image with no pixel binning and the Pro mode is also better.Starry mode is also featured in this phone which allows great pictures of the night sky. This was first seen in the Realme X3 Super Zoom and is a pretty cool feature to have in a phone of this price.Night Mode named Super Night Scape is also available along with features like AI scene recognition,AI beautification, Time Lapse mode etc.
4K [email protected],1080p [email protected]/60/120 fps and 720p video[email protected]/60/240 fps can be recorded.UIS( Ultra Image Stabilization) is present.Features like Real Time Bokeh, Ultra Wide videos and Slow Motion videos are supported.
On the front is a 16MP f/2.1 Sony IMX 471 punch hole selfie shooter.Portrait mode and Night Scape mode is also enabled.1080p and 720p [email protected] can be captured along with slow motion videos too.
BATTERY AND COLOURS
A massive 5000 mAH battery powers the Realme 7.30W fast charging is supported which can charge the phone from 0 to 100% in 65 minutes.
Mist Blue and Mist White are the colour variants.

CONCLUSION
Realme7 is a mid range budget phone but so are the Realme C12,C15,6,6i .But some features make it a very recommendable device.First is the 90Hz refresh rate display.Secondly comes the boosted up GPU.Third is the Sony IMX 682 primary 64MP camera with its features and lastly the massive 5000 mAH battery with 30W fast charging prowess. All this in the price range makes the Realme 7 a perfect and classic mid range Smartphone.Yes for the first time in many days I genuinely feel that the Realme 7 is accurately priced.
