Oppo Find X2 Lite is literally the lighter version of Oppo’s new flagship the Oppo Find X2 Pro.It actually follows the recent trend of releasing a lite variant of the flagship device which has all the high end specs but not the luxury top end specs.
Well Oppo goes a little further in having two such smartphones which are a little lower in terms of price and spec sheet than its flagship which to be honest has created quite a stir in the market.Oppo Find X2 Lite and Oppo Find X2 Neo are the two handsets I am talking about.
Both the devices mentioned above are mostly similar with slight differences which I will illustrate below. The actual aim of the company is to give customers such a device which will have a feel of the top end flagship at a much lower price i.e a price which is much more affordable. So without much more adieu let’s dive into the details.
DESIGN AND BODY
Oppo Find X2 Lite does not have the vegan leather model as the Oppo Find X2 Pro but sports a more common look with its glass back and front on an aluminium frame. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.The back has a quad camera module while on the front is a water drop notch housing the front camera.Bezels are minimum with a slight chin on bottom. The phone is very thin(7.9mm) and light(180g).The negative point, yes I directly say negative,is the presence of a single Sim tray which I feel is a crime today.
The dimensions are 160.3mm x 74.3mm x 7.9mm.It weighs 180g.
Oppo Find X2 Neo on the other hand has dimensions of 59.4mm x 72.4mm x 7.7mm and weighs 171g.As you can see that it also is very slim at 7.7mm and also more lighter at 171g than the Lite version.Rest design wise and look wise both the phones are similar except the Neo has a punch hole front camera and a matte finish at its back.
Oppo Find X2 Lite sports a 6.4″Amoled display with FHD+(1080 x 2400) resolution with 20:9 aspect ratio and ~408ppi.The advertised maximum brightness is 430 nits. The display is slightly curved over the edges and comes with all usual features of an OLed panel sporting vivid colours. The only thing missing is a 90Hz refresh rate which is present in the 6.5″display of the Oppo Find X2 Neo.
The display of the Neo is better in having that 90Hz display and a very slightly larger size. The HDR10+ display has an advertised maximum brightness of 500nits.The Amoled panels on both the phones ensures great video watching and gaming experience with the Neo version providing smoother swiping and scrolling experience.
It is worth mentioning that the 60Hz refresh rate display of the Oppo Find X2 Lite is by no means a bad one and if you have not yet used a phone with higher refresh rate you will not realise anything.
OS,PROCESSOR AND STORAGE
Both the phones run on Color OS 7 slapped over Android 10.The settings menu is quite overcrowded and you will have to really search for your required menu. But on the brighter side the OS retains the features of the Android 10 like Dark Mode.
Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset which has a 5G modem integrated into it and is the reason for the lower price. It runs on 7nm technology and has an octa core processor(1 x 2.4GHz,1 x 2.2GHz,6 x 1.8GHz).The GPU is Adreno620.
The Oppo Find X2 Lite houses 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS2.1internal storage while the Oppo Find X2 Neo has 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.
Oppo Find X2 Lite features a quad camera module with a primary 48MP f/1.7 Sony IMX586 sensor,a 8MP f/2.2 ultra wide sensor with 119° field of view,a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor and a 2MP f/2.4 B/W sensor.Usual HDR,Panorama features are present along with Night Mode.Portrait mode has good bokeh effect thanks to the dedicated depth sensor.AI scene recognition is also present alongside 2X and 5X digital zoom.
Videos of 4K @30fps and 1080p @30/60fps can be captured.Ultra Steady feature is present thanks to the EIS(electronic image stabilisation).
Oppo Find X2 Neo has a 13MP f/2.4 telephoto lens in place of the depth sensor and supports OIS(optical image stabilisation).Rest all are same.Soloop Video editing feature is present in both.
Both the phones have a 32MP f/2.0 selfie shooter the difference being that the Neo has a punch hole module o the top left while the Lite has a waterdrop notch.HDR is supported and also portrait mode though no depth sensor is present on the front side.
Both the phones have an under display optical fingerprint sensor.
3.5mm jack is present in the Oppo Find X2 Lite with a single firing speaker at the bottom.Though the maximum volume is high you very well know how easy it is to accidentaly muffle the sound of the speaker while holding the phone. The Oppo Find X2 Neo on the other hand does not have a 3.5mm jack but dua audio stereo speakers with two speaker grills at the bottom and top.A USB headphone is provided in the box.
5G,Dual band Wi-Fi,Bluetooth and NFC are supported in both.USB2.0 Type C cable is supported in the Lite while USB 3.1 Type C cable is supported in the Neo.
BATTERY AND COLOURS
The phones are powered by a 4025mAH battery which supports 30W VOOC4.0 fast charging. So the battery can be charged upto 50% in just 20 minutes.
Oppo Find X2 lite comes in two colour variants the Moonlight Black and Pearl White while the Oppo Find X2 Neo has two colour options the Moonlight Black and Starry Blue.
The Oppo Find X2 Lite is price at 399pounds(689$) while the Neo is at 599pounds(949$).They are expected to be launched within June18 in India at price points of ₹41,690 and ₹58,590 or below respectively.
Indian pricing is bound to be lower as you can get phones with better specs at a lower price at this moment.Still the Oppo Find X2 series has been a revelation and till date there is no complaints about camera quality of any Oppo phone.
The Neo has a more storage option,a better display refresh rate and an extra telephoto camera lens but comes at a much higher price. To be honest if you are looking for a low priced phone with the taste of a flagship then the Lite has enough gas to satisfy your needs.Another thing you can keep in mind is that the Oppo Find X2 Lite may be a glimpse of the upcoming rumoured OnePlus Nord or OnePlus Z whichever name it may come with(you very well know that OnePlus and Oppo re produced under the same umbrella of BBK Electronics).
Anyways what do you think of these two smartphones? Please let me know in comments.
