OnePlus Nord 2 has arrived but is it everything you asked for as the company claims?Well we will have an idea by the end of this post.
Before moving on remember the OnePlusNord. It was the company’s way of getting back to their roots which is to provide flagship killers at affordable price. It succeeded but not upto most expectations largely because of the competition. Now OnePlus Nord 2 has to carry forward the legacy and will it do so?
Let’s have a look at the specs sheet.

|Front Camera||32MP wide|

|Battery||4500mAH, 65W warp charging|

As usual the OnePlus Nord 2 boasts of a very good 6.43″ Fluid Amoled display with 1080×2400 resolution. The maximum refresh rate is 90Hz.In short you should have no complaints about the immersive nature.
The 50MP primary Sony IMX sensor is excellent for normal and even lowlight photography. To be frank it is better than the previous year’s one.The OIS ensures the 4K videos to be very stable. The ultrawide sensor has 119° field of view and is quite good.
Oxygen OS is my personal favourite because of its resemblance to stock Android I’m addition to the OnePlus features. The OnePlus Nord 2 still features Oxygen OS, the latest version so to speak even after their merger with Oppo.Yes the camera app is identical to that of Color OS in Oppo phones.
The 4500mAH battery in the OnePlus Nord 2 is in two parts to enable the whopping 65W fast or warp charging. You get a full charge in approximately 30mins.
The 8/128GB model costs ₹ 29999 and the top model of 12/256GB will cost you ₹34999.The base price is reasonable for what you get in return.
The OnePlus Nord 2 doesn’t have an official IP rating for water resistance though the rubber linings indicate that it can withstand the odd splashes.
The Mediatek Dimensity 1200 5G chipset is pretty good with a maximum clock speed of 3GHz.But it is not as good as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 which is available in phones of this range. Still I wouldn’t have mentioned it as a con unless I discovered this weird fact.
Realme X7 Max 5G was the first phone in India with the Dimensity 1200 chipset. The benchmark tests like Antutu indicates that the OnePlus Nord 2 scores less than the Realme phone .Both having the same processor makes this fact unbelievable and I simply don’t know why.Also the Realme device boasts of 120Hz display while the Nord 2 maxes out at 90.
The 2MP monochrome camera completes the triple camera module of the OnePlus Nord 2 and as I have said time and again these 2MP sensors are unworthy. They have no other role but to increase the number of cameras count.
OnePlus Nord 2 is recommendable for the OS,the primary camera and the battery. Though I had expected more from them but still the phone is quite good at the price. It definitely falls apart when you compare it with same range phones but still it has that OnePlus brand value. I should also mention that in terms of looks it kills the competition but you don’t buy a phone simply for that.
So what do you think? Are you willing to buy it? Please let me know in comments.
