Motorola One Fusion+ is another member of the Motorola mid-range budget phones family.Already released in Europe it is coming on sale from 16thJune,2020 in India via Flipkart.
It has been priced at ~300€ and in India the price is ₹16999 at Flipkart. The price is much lower than the European market as in general the European versions are priced a little higher than that of India.
At the mentioned price it already has an upper hand on the upcoming rumoured OnePlus Z.Can Motorola outshine it’s competition that is to be seen.It is worthy of mentioning that the recently launched Motorola G8 Power Lite has been a great success but it is priced at a much lower value.
So without wasting more time let’s have a look at the detailed specs of the Motorola One Fusion+.
DESIGN AND BODY
The design is quite similar to the last year’s Motorola One Hyper from the front and the back is similar to the Moto G series.
The Motorola One Fusion+ features a glass front with plastic back and frame. The back has a quad camera module the cameras being in a straight line pointing downwards and alongside is the fingerprint sensor. The front has a full view display as no punch hole or notch is present. Bezels are minimum with a slight chin at the bottom. There is a dedicated Google Assistant button and whether or not it’s customisable is unspecified yet.
The dimensions of the phone are 162.9mm×76.4mm×9.6mm.It weighs 210g.The Motorola One Fusion+ is splash resistant i.e it will be okay to take it out if there is a light shower but don’t take it into the swimming pool.
The phone sports a 6.5″ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with FHD+ resolution of 1080×2340,an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and ~396ppi.
You get a full view experience on the Motorola One Fusion+ because of the absence of any punch hole or notch. The front camera is a motorized pop up one.
A full view option on a 6.5″ display ensures an awesome experience while watching videos or playing games. It would have been more better if there would have been an Amoled display.
OS, PROCESSOR AND STORAGE
Motorola One Fusion+ runs on Android 10 and you get stock android experience similar to other Motorola phones.
Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset (8nm) with octa core processor (2×2.2GHz,6×1.8GHz) and the GPU is Adreno 618.The Snapdragon 730 SoC is powerful enough for good gaming experience but not as powerful as the Snapdragon 765G featuring in some mid-range devices.
The Indian variant will house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G a modified version of the Snapdragon 730 for better gaming experience. In fact the main difference is the overclocked GPU Adreno 618 with about 10% more graphics speed. The 730G also has some elite Snapdragon gaming features. To put it simply the Indian version has targeted gamers providing them a dedicated gaming SoC.
Only one storage variant is available- the 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage. There is option for micro SD card which has a shared slot with the dual nano SIM tray.Upto 1TB expandable storage is supported.
The quad camera module sports a primary 64 MP f/1.8 wide sensor,a 8MP f/2.2 ultra wide angle sensor with 118°field of view,a 5MP f/2.2 macro lens and a 2MP f/2.2 depth sensor.Yet again I will say that instead of the macro lens, whose use is minimal in daily life, there should have been a telephoto lens.
HDR, panorama and LED flash are Bokeh effect is good thanks to the dedicated depth sensor. The Motorola One Fusion+ also comes with Quad Pixel technology which can combine 4 pixels into one and with the help of which the 64MP lens can capture photos of 16MP.
4K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 30/60fps can be shot.
A motorized pop up selfie camera is present of 16MP f/2.0 which also has the Quad Pixel technology and can capture photos of 4MP when required.1080p videos at 30 fps can be captured.
The Motorola One Fusion+ has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.
3.5mm jack is present and speakers also have a good audio quality.
Bluetooth v5,Wi-Fi are supported along with USB Type C.As already mentioned a dedicated button to call Google Assistant is present on the right side of the phone.
BATTERY AND COLOURS
A big 5000mAH battery powers the phone and supports 15W fast charging.Yes the battery is enough to give you minimum 2 days of battery life in moderate use but the fast charging power could have been faster.
It is available in two colour variants- Moonlight White and Twilight Blue.
The Motorola One Fusion+ has a better processor and camera than the Moto G8 Power and is also priced higher.Still the Moto G8 Power has two things that could and I feel should have been incorporated in the Fusion+. They are the telephoto lens and a slightly bigger fast charging power of 18W.The 5000mAH battery of the Motorola One Fusion+ is really good but it will take time to fully charge such a huge cell with a 15W charger.
Remaining specs are reasonable for its budget. The OnePlus 8Z is rumoured to be coming with the Snapdragon 855+ which is obviously a better processor but the rumoured price is also higher.
Anyways Motorola has started shining again and regaining it’s lost glory a little in the low or mid-range budget section again.Stock Android experience is also a plus point. Will the Fusion+ add to Motorola’s glory, that future will tell. What are your thoughts? Please let me know in comments.
